Class Profile (2025)

"What this place teaches you so well is how to learn and how to collaborate; and how to think about something; and how to approach something; and how to work with people who come from a very different point of view and have a different perspective than you do."

Fuqua Deadlines

Round 1: October 1, 2024

Round 2: January 9, 2025

Round 3: February 20, 2025

The Application Process

  1. Do your research: Talk to friends, family, and mentors. Get to know the campus and attend events. Take your time to decide whether the Fuqua MBA program is the right program for you. Then, review the online application and all deadlines. Assess the different parts of the application timeline to be fully prepared.
  2. Submit your application: Before submission, ensure that everything is complete and edited. You can view the status of your application on the online student portal.
  3. Interview: Fuqua offers two different kinds of interviews. The first is those done during the Open Interview Period and the second is by invitation only. Depending on your individual timeline, interview season can be a good time to visit the campus and attend campus events.
  4. Receive a decision: Decisions will arrive via email on the decision date for each round. Students that wish to reserve their place in the place must submit two nonrefundable tuition deposits, official test scores, and official transcripts.
  5. Visit Fuqua: Duke wants its students to be a part of its campus community. Admitted students should take part in the campus visit program and the Blue Devil Weekend.
  6. Access the incoming student website: After admissions, students will have access to the incoming students portal which will include program announcements, technical and computer information, academic assignments, relocation information, and classmate information.
  7. Apply for a visa: International students can find visa application information in the student portal. Because visa processing can take several months, international students must apply in Early Action, Round 1, or Round 2 to make sure that they are able to start their MBA program on time.

GMAT/GRE

Duke accepts scores from both the GRE and GMAT. For its executive MBA program, it also accepts Executive Assessment scores. Test scores are valid for five years and they do not require official scores at the time of application. There is no preference for either the GRE or the GMAT and there is no minimum test score requirement. Scores can be updated after the application’s submission.

Recommender Requirements

For new applicants, Duke requires one letter of recommendation and offers another optional letter of recommendation. Reapplicants can use the same recommendation letter from a previous application and have the opportunity to submit one or two new letters.

In addition to the one required recommendation, applicants may provide an additional endorsement from Fuqua alumni or current students. If this endorsement is submitted before you submit your application, you will be eligible for an application fee waiver.

Fuqua Interviews

Interviews give applicants the chance to showcase different areas of their credentials. The interview will be conducted by an admissions staff member, an alumnus/alumna, or an admissions fellow. At the current time, all interviews will be conducted online. They typically last 30-45 minutes and are conducted in English. Business casual is the appropriate attire and the interviewers will only have a copy of the applicant’s resume.
